Our current buzz word is “Micellar Cleansing Water” and it all started because we wanted to develop a worry-free, gentle but super amazing cleanser for our sensitive and not-so-sensitive skin friends. So what did we do? We looked to nature to find answers. This time, we decided to look deep, real deep – into the ocean. Then she gifted us with our newest Rovectin member, Marine Micellar Deep Cleansing Water– I know, it’s long, but it literally says what it does. Although, what exactly is “micellar,” and how does it work? Let’s find out.

WHAT IS MICELLAR TECHNOLOGY

Micellar cleansing water is formed with micelles composed of both water and oil molecules. The oil molecule (lipophilic) of the micelle absorbs impurities and makeup from clogged pores, while the water molecule (hydrophilic) is released into your skin to keep skin hydrated. This is how micellar technology works effectively to remove impurities and increase moisture retention with deep penetration through layers of your epidermis. In easier terms, micelles draw out all the dirt from your pores like a magnet without drying out your skin in the cleansing process.

The great thing about micellar water is that, though it removes impurities and dirt from your skin, it leaves your skin’s natural protecting barrier intact. Long gone are the days of squeaky clean washes where it leaves your skin too dry and too tight. Micellar water’s slightly acidic property, its lipophilic and hydrophilic properties keep the good oil on your skin to prevent microbes that can cause irritation or infections. You still need a cotton pad to use micellar water effectively, but you don't necessarily need to stand over the sink to use micellar cleansing water. So, that means you can clean your face on your couch, sprawled on your bed, while you’re watching TV and so on. Then finish up with a quick rinse or you can continue onto a double cleanse routine. Perhaps once in a while, when you’re just so so so tired and maybe, maybe you can get away with “washing” your face with just the micellar cleansing water (do not quote us, we’re not recommending this, but I mean… come on, once in a while).
